The SMS Research Forum is the vibrant scholarly community of the School of Management Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). Launched during the Diamond Jubilee year and Inaugurated on January 4, 2025, the forum consists of over 100 dedicated Ph.D Scholars both Part - time and Full - time. It aims to cultivate academic dialogue, foster peer learning, and build a supportive research ecosystem within the department.
The Forum promotes meaningful research that addresses real-world challenges and contributes actionable insights to academia, industry, and society.
We nurture a vibrant research culture through workshops, scholar-led forums, and expert interactions. Our platform bridges academia, policy, and industry for meaningful engagement. Together, we empower scholars with the skills and support needed for impactful research.
SMS Research Forum operates through specialized committees to ensure smooth functioning and promote research-focused engagement across domains.
Facilitates research internships, industry collaborations, and placement support for research scholars. Works closely with the corporate interface team of SMS and supports scholars in aligning their research with industry needs.
Responsible for planning and executing academic events such as the Doctoral Colloquium, workshops, seminars, and scholar forums. Ensures smooth coordination and participation across events.
Promotes inclusivity, scholar well-being, and community engagement. Organizes welfare programs, peer support initiatives, and social outreach activities for the scholar community.
Oversees the creation and review of academic content including abstracts, newsletters, event reports, and the SMS Research Forum publications. Ensures quality, consistency, and academic rigor in all published materials.
The Doctoral Colloquium 2025 is a two-day academic event hosted by the SMS Research Forum at the School of Management Studies, CUSAT. Scheduled for May 15–16, 2025, the event invites early and advanced-stage doctoral scholars, postgraduate students, and faculty for a vibrant exchange of ideas, feedback, and collaboration.
